Among Us VR was slated for a holiday release and the makers have kept that promise. The game will be made available on November 10 across Meta Quest, Rift and Steam. Those who pre-order now via the Meta Quest store will get an in-game Mini Crewmate hat.
This news about Among Us VR‘s release date was disclosed during the Meta Connect event, which also saw the launch of its new trailer. You can view this trailer in the space below.
Victoria Tran, community director at Innersloth said during the event, “The VR version of Among Us remains true to the spirit of the original game while also giving players an all-new way to experience the chaos and thrill of accusing your friends of murder!”
As has been revealed before, this version will bring the Among Us experience in full VR form. This will include tasks, emergency meetings, murders, and everything that characterises the extremely popular game.
Both voice-based chat and quick text chat will be supported, while the maximum number of allowed players in a game will be 10. What’s more, cross-platform play between Meta Quest, Rift and Steam will also be supported.
In addition, Among Us VR will ship with specially crafted minigames that have been created only for VR. At launch, the game will support eight languages, namely English, French, Italian, German, Spanish (LATAM), Chinese (traditional and simplified), Japanese, and Korean.
Among Us was originally launched in 2018 but shot to fame only during the pandemic when several creators started playing it in their streams. Since then, it has arrived on the Nintendo Switch, as well as PlayStation and Xbox consoles.
And now, the Among Us VR version is finally ready for its debut this holiday season.
