With its release nearly a month away, Marvel’s Spider-Man has been blessed with a new gameplay trailer by Insomniac Games. The video offers a detailed look at the expanded version of New York City and also reveals other crucial aspects of the game.
In this sequel, the size of the New York map has nearly doubled and it will expand beyond the East River to encompass both Queens and Brooklyn. Needless to say, both the new areas will be replete with fresh story missions, side quests, and city activities.
To make traversal through these large distances faster, the makers of Spider-Man 2 have introduced Web Wings for both the game’s characters. Speaking of them, players will be allowed to switch between Peter Pan and Miles Morales instantly without any load screens.
Moreover, even the fast travel system doesn’t have load screens anymore, thanks to the power of the PS5’s SSD. Players can switch between the heroes freely during open-world gameplay but some missions will only be playable as Peter or Miles.
As the previous trailers have revealed, Peter Parker’s Spider-Man will feature new Symbiote powers, giving him Spider-Arms that are aggressive and relentless. As for Miles, he gets a new bioelectric venom power as well as Evolved venom abilities.
Spider-Man 2 will feature a total of 65 suits for both characters to don. These will include original designs as well as fan favorites from films and comics. Moreover, there will even be a new Suit Styles feature to unlock alternate color shaders for some suits.
Insomniac Games has also announced that 10 of these suits will be exclusive to the Digital Deluxe Edition, which can be pre-ordered right now at the same price. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will arrive on the PS5 on October 20.
