Death Stranding And Future Kojima Games Coming To Mac

Death Stranding

Hideo Kojima himself has announced that Death Stranding Director’s Cut will be released for Mac later this year. Speaking at Apple’s WWDC 2023 keynote, he also revealed that fans can also expect future offerings from Kojima Productions on the said platform.

“I have been a die-hard Apple fan since I bought my first Mac back in 1994,” said Kojima during his presentation. “It has been a dream of mine to see my team’s best work come to life on the Mac.”

macOS marks one more non-Sony platform that Death Stranding will be available to play on. After initially launching on the PS4, it was published for Windows PC in July 2020.

In the following year, Death Stranding was released for the PS5 in the form of a Director’s Cut. This version came with several new gameplay additions, an extended storyline, new missions, fresh weapons, additional vehicles, and much more.

On Mac, Death Stranding will take full advantage of Apple’s M series chipsets and the new Game Mode trait that has been added to the newly unveiled macOS Sonoma.

This feature is designed to prioritize a game’s access to CPU and GPU resources, while also reducing latency for connected AirPods and Xbox and PlayStation controllers.

Besides, Apple has also announced its new augmented reality headset called Vision Pro, which comes with support for gaming. On this new headset, owners will be able to play Apple Arcade games using third-party controllers.

The innovative accessory enables a number of never-before-seen usage scenarios. But the catch is that it only offers two hours of battery life and costs $3500. It will start being sold in the US early next year.
