Death Stranding Now Available On PC Game Pass

Death Stranding

In case you haven’t heard it, Microsoft has managed to bring Death Stranding to PC Game Pass and it’s now available for download to everyone with a subscription. Despite owning and funding the game, Sony has denied any involvement with this decision, having said that it has manifested completely from the end of Kojima Productions and 505 Games.

The open-world action-adventure game can be grabbed on PC by anyone who has a PC Game Pass membership. It was first released for the PS4 in 2019 but the following year saw it making its way to PC. A Director’s Cut version with plenty of new gameplay additions was launched for the PS5 last year.

After news came out about the arrival of Death Stranding on PC Game Pass, Sony was quick to make a statement regarding the matter. It told Push Square that it had “no involvement” with this release despite holding the intellectual property. “Matters relating to the PC release of Death Stranding are managed by Kojima Productions and 505 Games,” said the company.

Death Stranding is the brainchild of legendary game director Hideo Kojima and exists in its own sub-genre of “strand games.” It is set in the United States following a cataclysmic event that has caused destructive creatures to begin roaming the Earth. You take control of Sam Porter Bridges (played by actor Norman Reedus), who is a courier tasked with delivering supplies to isolated colonies and reconnecting them via a wireless communications network.

Microsoft has made it clear that the PC Game Pass edition of the game will support everything from an ultrawide mode to high frame rates. Moreover, cross-over content from other franchises will also be present in this version of Death Stranding.
