Nintendo NX price and release date leaked

The much awaited Nintendo NX console just refuses to stay out of the news. This time we have received word on its price and release date owing to a gaffe from Tesco. The British retailer had put up a listing for the system, but has now taken it down.

The listing was titled Nintendo NX Wii U, and had the price of the console set at £349.99. That means its dollar price should come to around $399.99. As for the release date, it was listed as 31 December 2016.

As pointed out by VG247, that launch date really does sound fake, and it’s possible that it was just a placeholder. If Nintendo indeed wanted to release its new system this year, why would it do that towards the end of the holiday season? As for the price, it sounds pretty believable.

For now, we’ve heard that it will be a portable machine which will have its own display and detachable controllers. Owners will be able to carry it around like a laptop, and use it like a normal console when they have a TV screen to connect it to.

We’ll have more details on the Nintendo NX console as and when additional information keeps popping up.
