Palworld Surpasses 5 Million Copies Sold In Three Days

Palworld

Palworld, a game that can simply be described as ‘Pokemon with guns’ has entered the realm and has already managed to sell 5 million copies within just three days. On Steam, it has become one of just six games ever to hit more than a million concurrent players.

This is despite several server issues that have plagued the game since its arrival. At the time of publishing, Palworld has maintained its top spot on the Steam charts.

Described as an action-adventure survival game, Palworld has been developed by Pocket Pair and takes place in an open world that’s populated with Pokemon-like creatures known called Pals. But the twist is that you control a human character that can wield firearms.

Palworld puts you in the shoes of a customizable avatar and lets you play from a third-person perspective. The goal is to explore the open-world environments and uncover their secrets. While doing this, however, you need to manage your hunger levels, craft basic tools, gather materials, and build bases.

Over 100 different species of Pals populate the environments, allowing players to engage with them in combat before weakening and capturing them using their Pal Spheres. They can then be summoned for battles or stationed at the bases to assist with scavenging, crafting, cooking, and more.

The Pokemon influence is glaringly visible in the game but the Pocket Pair team claims otherwise. According to them the idea has come from games like Ark: Survival Evolved, Rust, and Dragon Quest.

Palworld is available to play right now via Steam Early Access and Xbox Game Preview (part of Game Pass). The developers plan to keep adding new features to it, including updates like PvP modes, guild raids, and more.
