If you’re a Spider-Man fan thinking of buying a new PS5 console for yourself, you’d better wait until September 1 as a special edition of the same is on its way. The Spider-Man 2 PS5 console can be pre-ordered right now at $599.99.
That’s a hefty premium on top of the console’s already-raised price. But fans who buy it will get custom artwork on both its removable plates as well as its controller, apart from a digital copy of Spider-Man 2 that will be downloadable once the game goes live on October 20.
That’s not all; the game will come with all the pre-order perks that are to be gifted with its Standard edition. These include early access to new suits for Peter Parker as well as Miles Morales. And there’s also a trio of alternate color schemes for each character.
The pre-order perks don’t stop there; they even include access to the web grabber gadget and three additional skill points to boost your progress in the game’s skill tree.
If you already own a PS5, Sony has you covered as well. The modularity of the console’s design allows you to replace its faceplates with the special ones present onboard the Spider-Man 2 edition. These will be sold separately at $64.99.
You can also purchase the special edition controller separately for $79.99. The complete package that includes the faceplates, the controller, and the game’s Standard edition will come up to $215.
Spider-Man 2 will focus equally on Peter Parker and Miles Morales and allow you to switch between characters in the middle of gameplay. Developed by Insomniac Games, it will be released on October 20 and will only be available to play on the PS5, giving the PS4 a miss.
