Trio of Starfield Anime Shorts Give Glimpses Of Game’s Lore

Starfield: The Settled Systems

Starfield is just over a month away but fans have been gifted something that should help a bit in abating their excitement. Three anime short films detailing the game’s world have been released by Bethesda, with one of them even showing a glimpse of some mech warfare.

Starfield: The Settled Systems, as this series is called, features three shorts with basic animations that are devoid of any voiceovers. The first one is called Super Et Ultra and shows a courier pilot who works his way into joining the UC Vanguard faction to finally realize his dream.

The second short is called Where Hope Is Built and is centred on an orphan living in Akila City, whose search for repair parts leads her into some unexpected danger. It features a short flashback showing a mech fight, which should definitely delight fans.

However, there has been no previous revelation about Starfield featuring any mech warfare gameplay. The only reference to the same was an abandoned old mech suit seen in the game’s trailer. The makers have, as yet, given no credible clues on the matter.

And then there’s the third short called The Hand That Feeds, which features two street rats in the pleasure city of Neon. After a swift robbery, one of them is lured by the prospect of joining the all-seeing Ryujin Industries and is faced with a difficult moral dilemma.

These anime shorts don’t reveal much about Starfield but they do manage to create an image of what the story will involve. The game is scheduled to release on September 6 for PC and Xbox Series X/S consoles. PlayStation 5 owners currently have no hopes of ever getting it.
