Among Us Receives Quickchat Feature, “Big Update News” Teased

Among Us Quickchat

As Among Us continues to revel in its pandemic-driven popularity, its makers have been introducing one new feature after another. This is no surprise since the game’s sudden popularity had led them to cancel its sequel and add its planned features into the same game. They have now come up with Quickchat, which shows you prompts that you can tap on to communicate with others, instead of typing whole sentences.

A screenshot depicting this feature has been released by the developers via Twitter. It shows a wheel-shaped menu with options likes Accusation, Location, Question, and more. Quickchat will appear over the in-game chat menu, where players are usually needed to communicate with each other using text-based chat or with actual voice. Quickchat is for those who are not comfortable with either.

For now, the update has only been released for the PC version along with a few fixes. The age gate for the game has also been dropped to 13. The mobile and Switch versions of Among Us will be getting this update in the coming days. Along with all this, developer Innersloth has also teased that information about the “big update news” will be arriving soon. No prizes for guessing that this is related to the Airship map that was unveiled back in November last year.

Among Us was released on PC back in 2018 and didn’t enjoy the kind of popularity it does right now. However, the stay-at-home orders during the pandemic led to a huge increase in its user base. The social deduction game involves crewmates of spaceships trying to find out who the imposters among them are. Three maps are currently available in the game’s PC and mobile versions.

While a version for the Nintendo Switch was released in December last year, ports for the Xbox Series S/X are also currently in the making.
