Among Us VR’s Closed Beta Sign-Ups Now Open

Among Us VR

The makers of Among Us have said that the game’s VR version will be released during the holiday season of 2022 without giving any more details about its exact time of arrival. It now looks like the game won’t be facing any delays given that closed beta sign-ups have gone live already.

Those interested in Among Us VR can now register on the official page and hope they are lucky enough to be selected for this closed test. Needless to say, you’d need to have a compatible virtual reality headset in order to get into the beta, whenever it goes live.

Among Us VR will be like the original game but from the first-person perspective. The makers’ original blurb tells us that it’s a “first-person, 3D experience that places players in the heart of the Skeld, with all the same core mechanics from the original game.”

Among Us was initially released back in 2018 but it exploded in popularity during the pandemic when a few well-known streamers started playing it regularly. The social deduction aspect of the game was quick to grab the fancy of millions around the world.

Players are spawned onto maps as Crewmates, with a few among them being Imposters. While the Imposters need to kill the Crewmates one by one without being noticed by others, the Crewmates need to spot the Imposters before it’s too late by holding meetings that call for votes.

Such was its popularity that a planned sequel was scrapped and all of its additions were rolled out as free updates to the original game. Among Us can be played on Android and iOS devices, aside from PC, Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
