Among Us Hits Nintendo Switch With Crossplay Support

Among Us

In a surprise announcement during Nintendo’s latest indie-focused showcase, it was announced that Among Us has been made available for the Nintendo Switch. The game supports crossplay with its PC and mobile versions as well. Despite having been released back in 2018, 2020 has really been the year Among Us received its due recognition. The game also recently bagged two honors at The Game Awards 2020.

Among Us can be downloaded on the Nintendo Switch through the eShop right now at $5. This version will come with support for the console’s TV, tablet, and handheld modes. No other special features have been added to this version though.

At The Game Awards 2020, developer Innersloth announced a brand new map for Among Us that is called Airship. This new map is scheduled to be released in early 2021 and is based on Innersloth’s other game Henry Stickmin. It will feature new tasks, kill animations, and much more.

Among Us pretty much flew under the radar after its 2018 release, but it was only during the pandemic that it achieved popularity, thanks to a number of streamers who started playing it on their streams. The developers who were working on a sequel then decided to scrap those plans and add the new features to this version itself.

The game takes the simple premise of social deduction and marries it with action-based gameplay featuring tiny characters rushing to complete tasks. One, two, or three characters among them are revealed to be imposters who need to kill all others before they can complete their tasks and that too, without letting anyone know of their identity as imposters.

As we said, Among Us is now available on the Nintendo Switch through the eShop for $5.
