Gotham City Impostors Gets Delayed Till February

No particular reason was cited by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Entertainment when they recently announced a delay in the launch of the much awaited Gotham City Impostors. Earlier slated to be released on January 10, 2012, this game will now be outed sometime in February.

Gotham City Impostors 1

This title is a download-only first-person shooter which pits twelve players in battles that will be fought for control of a deranged Gotham City occupied by Impostors inspired from the DC Comics characters Batman and The Joker. This online multiplayer title provides gamers with the opportunity to engage in unusual urban warfare, while also letting them personalize their own Impostors.

The supposedly unprecedented customization options in this game will be made available for players to craft their very own versions of the Bats or the Jokerz characters. Along with a variety of costumes, homemade gadgets and a range of traditional and inventive weapons are also said to form a part of this offering. Moreover, the maps and modes that will make their way into this game have apparently been inspired from DC Comics’ Batman license.

Unveiled for the first time in May last year, this game has been developed by Monolith Productions. Its closed beta was launched by the company in October. This beta was only doled out to PC gamers and was accessible through redeemable codes sent to registered players via email.

Gotham City Impostors will be released for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC in February this year. Pricing details for the title are yet to be revealed by the publisher.
