Some of the lucky winners who signed up for the Gotham City Impostors beta can check their email accounts for codes that will offer them access to the multiplayer shooter from tomorrow. Right now, gamers can download the client but the codes will be redeemable only during the announced times.
1UP has apparently come across one of the emails that were sent by the developer to select gamers. It goes on to reveal that the closed beta is scheduled to run only till Sunday, October 9 and moreover, the servers will be kept open from 7 p.m. to 12 a.m. EST. And considering the fact that it is a closed beta, testers won’t be allowed to share information about the game owing to the ‘Play Testing and Confidentiality Agreement.’
The email also offers a detailed list of all the required specifications for the game to run on PCs. Apart from a Dual Core CPU 2.5GHz, it would also require 6GB of hard disk space. Developers have recommended either GeForce 8800 or ATI X1900 GPUs besides a broadband connection of minimum 64kbps. At least 1.5GB of memory is also needed for the beta to function.
Announced in May this year, Gotham City Impostors is a downloadable, multiplayer first person shooter that is set in the Batman universe. It is slated to release in Q1 of next year. Gotham City Impostors has been developed by Monolith which is known for its work on the first two F.E.A.R. titles.
Those select few who have received codes of the Gotham City Imposters beta will be able to redeem them from tomorrow. The closed beta will be available to play only till October 9, 2011.
