Mad Catz Tritton Detonator Stereo Headset shipping for Xbox 360

Mad Catz is doing what they do best as usual and this time around, it’s the Tritton Detonator stereo headset for Xbox 360 that’s being shipped to gamers. Though the peripheral may be marked out for Microsoft’s homegrown gaming console, it still works with a range of phones, MP3 players and other audio devices sporting 3.5mm jacks.

The Detonator may be a very nondescript pair of headphones in black with orange and white interruptions. At the same time, the company seems to promise some good quality stereo audio to come pumping out of the device. On the design front, users will be looking at a circumaural shape complemented by a padded, adjustable headband and cushy around-the-ear earcups.

“We are excited to be shipping the first product in our highly anticipated co-branded headset range,” remarked Darren Richardson, the President and Chief Executive Officer of Mad Catz Interactive. “Releasing a co-branded range of headsets has enabled us to offer an enticing feature set and quality audio which we are certain will appeal to the passionate gamer this holiday season.”

Balancing out the sound output through the speakers are 50mm neodymium drivers hidden within the earcup regions. Another interesting feature on the spec sheet is Selectable Voice Monitoring (SVM), meaning users can choose whether they want to hear their own voice through the headset or not.

The Mad Catz Tritton Detonator stereo headset is shipping to the U.S. for $79.99 (approx. Rs. 4,000), while gamers across the UK will have to drop £59.99 (approx. Rs. 4,600) in change for it.
