Soulcalibur V Goes Gold, Gets Release Date

The development procedure of Soulcalibur V has finally been completed and both its PS3 and Xbox 360 versions have finally gone gold. Along with this news, Namco Bandai Games Europe also announced that the much anticipated game will be released in North America on January 31, 2012 and in Europe on February 3.

This title is set to take place in a new era that is seventeen years ahead of its predecessors. It has apparently been loaded with fresh game features and a guest appearance by Ezio Auditore from the Assassin’s Creed titles. A standard version as well as a Collector’s Edition of this title will go on retail upon its launch. Along with a copy of the game, the latter includes a specially designed ‘book’ box art book, a Soulcalibur music CD, a DLC card for the Black Knight and White Knight armour sets, making-of videos, original artwork and letter on a reproduction parchment paper signed by the team at Project Soul.

Moreover, those who pre-order either editions of the game from specific retailers will receive codes to unlock Dampierre as a playable character. Subsequent to this title’s release, Namco Bandai Games would also be releasing details about a tournament schedule. According to the publisher, this is apparently an effort to unite the community and let fans publicly demonstrate their skills. Further details about this are expected to be revealed soon.

Scheduled to be launched in North America on January 31 and in Europe on February 3, Soulcalibur V can be pre-ordered currently through various retailers. Both its PS3 and Xbox 360 versions are priced at 59.99 USD (approx. Rs. 3,175), while the Collector’s Editions can be picked up at 79.99 USD (approx. Rs. 4,233) each.
