Slating its release date for November 12, 2K and Firaxis have revealed that the fresh content is headed to the PS3, Xbox 360, PC as well as Mac. However, while the console versions will sell at 39.99 USD (approx. Rs 2,565), the other two will have their price set at 29.99 USD (approx. Rs 1,925).

That’s because, the PS3 and Xbox 360 will get a standalone Commander Edition of the expansion – also containing the Slingshot and Elite Soldier content packs – which won’t require the original game in order to work. On the other hand, the PC and Mac versions will work with the much acclaimed XCOM: Enemy Unknown. A flurry of new abilities, upgrades and weapons will be made available through it, whereas fans will also be treated to additional maps and multiplayer content.

XCOM: Enemy Unknown was launched in October last year as a reboot to the series which has its roots set in 1994. This turn-based tactical role-playing game chronicles a near future alien invasion of Earth, thrusting players in the shoes of an elite multinational paramilitary organization called XCOM. In a bid to defend the Earth from the alien forces, gamers need to command troops in a series of turn-based tactical missions which are punctuated by the need for them to handle a number of other tasks.

Like we said, the Enemy Within expansion for XCOM: Enemy Unknown will be out on November 12, tagged at the above mentioned prices.
