Rocket League gets cross-platform play for Xbox One and PC

Microsoft recently made available a developer-end feature that would allow cross-platform play on the Xbox One, and Rocket League has just become one of the first titles to take advantage of it. After the update that will be rolled out later today, Xbox One gamers will be able to play alongside PC gamers.

For those unaware, PS4 owners have already been able to play alongside PC players right from the launch of Rocket League. As for cross-platform play between the PS4 and the Xbox One, this is a matter that’ll probably take quite some time to be solved.

Microsoft played its cards first, and has left it upon Sony to co-operate and make cross-platform play possible between the PS4 and the Xbox One. While Sony is still to take that stride, it has not completely denied the possibility.

Rocket League

Late next month, Rocket League will be made available in the form of disc copies for the PS4 and the Xbox One. It will be packaged as a Collector’s Edition and will ship with a number of paid DLC packs that were rolled out for the game post its launch.

Rocket League has turned out to be an unexpected success for its makers. That’s mainly due to its unique gameplay which involves playing football with cars. Recently, a basketball mode named Hoops was also introduced for it by its makers. This mode was doled out in the form of a free DLC.
