Rocket League is getting a basketball mode and Dying Light content

Last year’s surprise hit, Rocket League has just been revealed to be preparing for a basketball mode. This will grant players one more sport that they can play using rocket-powered cars. In addition, it has also been granted Dying Light crossover content.

The basketball mode has just been teased with a screenshot by the developers of Rocket League, Psyonix. They haven’t provided us with a release date yet, but have indeed suggested that it will be out this month itself.

As for the Dying Light crossover content, this completely unlikely association has arisen primarily due to the makers of the game being fans of Rocket League. And since both titles have driving as their integral parts, they decided on the collaboration to be something related to vehicles.

Those who own Dying Light: The Following can receive dune buggies with Rocket League paintjobs by just entering the code ‘LightMyRocket’ on this page. As for those who own the vehicle-based football simulator, they can get their Dying Light-themed gear in the game itself once it’s updated.

Rocket League was released in July 2015 as a PC and PS4 offering, which made its way to the Xbox One earlier this year. It’s a physics-based title which lets you play football in large arenas, with players replaced by vehicles.

Dying Light on the other hand is an open world first person survival game. It was released in January last year, and has received quite a lot of praise for its unique gameplay.

Fans of Rocket League are now very excited about the upcoming basketball mode, and they very well should be. We’ll have more on it when additional details are out.
