The much touted Starhawk beta was thrown open to all PSN account holders yesterday. PS Plus members as well as those who participated in the game’s private beta were the first ones to get a chance to play this public beta, after which, it was made available to players who owned voucher codes found in North American copies of Uncharted 3. And following this, gamers who received their codes via various giveaways got a chance to jump into the beta, before it got unlocked for all PSN users yesterday.
A post on the official PlayStation blog has revealed that this offering will soon be updated with new content in the coming weeks. A fresh map, new vehicles as well as weapons are all geared up to make their way into the beta. Furthermore, 32-player max matches have also been announced to be ready for the game. Sony has advised all Starhawk beta participants to actively help them in finding and fixing problems encountered within the game.
Harvard Bonin, Senior Producer, SCEA, wrote on the blog, “We’re happy to announce (remind) everyone that the Starhawk Multiplayer Beta is open to All Comers today, Tuesday, February 21 only on the PlayStation Network! You don’t have to ‘like’ us on Facebook, you don’t have to ‘accept a special offer’ and you don’t have to sign up for any service (that is, except for the PlayStation Network free service)! Everyone is welcome to join! Just check the PlayStation Store and prepare yourself for a good time!”
Recently, Limited Edition copies of this upcoming ogame were also unveiled by Sony. These will be doled out to those who rush to pre-order the title via GameStop. This version includes two DLC packs offering new maps and skins for the multiplayer title’s components, a soundtrack CD and a PSN download code of the PS one game, Warhawk.
The Starhawk beta can now be accessed by all PSN users through the PS Store. The full game is slated for PS3 release on May 8, 2012.
