Capcom’s latest offering, an action beat ‘em up title named Asura’s Wrath, has landed in North America for the PS3 and Xbox 360. Released as part of a collaboration between Capcom and Japanese developer CyberConnect2, this offering is claimed by the publisher to possess gameplay elements that are set to redefine the action genre.
The game’s narrative revolves around the title character Asura, who was once a revered deity, and was betrayed and banished for crimes he did not commit. Following the murder of his wife and the snatching of his daughter, he gets trapped for a period 12,000 years. Now, after being resurrected again, he has nothing but revenge on his mind. Asura’s further journey is filled with vengeance that he unleashes on those around him in to unravel their web of lies.
Delivering a blend of range attacks as well as visceral close quarter action, this title introduces a brand new gameplay mechanic named the Burst Gauge. A string of DLCs has also been announced by Capcom for the title. While the first two packs will include episodes of what happens between the full story, the next DLC will introduce characters from the Street Fighter franchise into this game. No other fighter apart from Ryu has been confirmed be a part of this pack.
Asura’s Wrath now retails for the PS3 and Xbox 360 in North America at a price of 59.99 USD (approx. Rs. 2,960).
