Following the launch of its demo through last week’s Nintendo downloadable games, Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater 3D has arrived in retail stores across North America. MGS fans will now be able to play the 3DS version of the extremely popular console game, which has been infused with new features to suit the capabilities of the handheld.
The story of the title takes place during the Cold War of the 60s and has the series’ hero Snake creeping through the Soviet jungle to rescue a kidnapped scientist. Gamers will be required to make full use of the character’s stealth skills as well as the foliage and shade of the jungle in order to achieve their objectives while staying hidden. The narrative further springs up a dramatic twist to the whole affair by bringing Snake face to face with a key figure from his past.
“The new technology and graphics used in Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater 3D for Nintendo 3DS are what make this release most exciting. Fans of the original title will enjoy the new 3D and camouflage elements but will appreciate that the themes and concept of the original title are still present,” shared Tomoyuki Tsuboi, President of Konami Digital Entertainment.
Apart from its 3D visuals, other new elements also make their way into this title. These include the new Photo Camo feature and the dual-screen format. While the former allows gamers to click pictures and paste them on Snake’s clothes, the latter provides easier access to his inventory.
Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater 3D now sells for the 3DS in North America at a price of 39.99 USD (approx. Rs. 1,970).
