Nintendo Downloadable Games Bring MGS Snake Eater 3D Demo, Super Mario Bros. and More

The demo for Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater 3D is finally live and can be acquired now by 3DS users for free from this week’s lineup of Nintendo downloadable games. Moreover, Mario fans will be able to relive the NES days with Super Mario Bros. which too is available for the 3DS. Other highlights include the launch of Hulu Plus for the Wii and a game each for the DSi and the Wii Virtual Console.

Auto-stereoscopic 3D, Gyro Sensor controls, the new Photo Camo feature and of course, the exciting story of the original title, will all be seen making their way in Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater 3D, a demo of which is currently live on the eShop. Moreover, Super Mario Bros. also hits Nintendo downloadable games this week. Folks might remember this legendary NES classic for its eight action-packed worlds which include levels that take place on plain ground as well as underwater and underground environments of the Mushroom Kingdom. This title is also a 3DS exclusive.

Super Mario Bros

iSpot Japan, which is available now for the DSi as well as the 3DS, is aimed at explaining players the facts and curiosities about Japanese culture. They will play the traditional ‘Spot the Difference’ games on 150 exclusive pictures depicting 4 main islands of Japan. A vs. multiplayer and a gallery mode would also be offered for gamers to dive into. Capcom’s yesteryear platformer, Strider has hit the Virtual Console and is downloadable now for the Wii. Set in 2048, this title allows gamers to play as Hiryu, who has been given an assignment to eliminate a dictator named Grandmaster.

Even as the Hulu Plus app is available now for free on the Wii Shop Channel, a basic one month subscription for the same costs 7.99 USD (approx. Rs. 395). The MGS Snake Eater 3D demo goes for free, while Super Mario Bros. sells on the eShop at 4.99 USD (approx. Rs. 245). The only DSi offering from this week’s Nintendo downloadable games, iSpot Japan can be purchased on the DSi Shop and the eShop at 200 Points and 1.99 USD (approx. Rs. 100), respectively.
