Elden Ring Gets Ray Tracing Support With Latest Update

Elden Ring

Patch 1.09 has arrived for Elden Ring, bringing ray tracing support for its PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC versions. This update also brings with it a set of balance changes and bug fixes for all versions of the action RPG.

The introduction of ray tracing to Elden Ring means gamers will be able to witness big graphical improvements like better lighting. However, those who enable this setting should also brace themselves for an overall performance drop.

Frame rates are set to suffer on consoles and PC alike. In fact, Bandai Namco has even released a new set of minimum and recommended PC specs for those who wish to play Elden Ring with ray tracing enabled:

  • CPU: Intel Core i5-10600K or AMD Ryzen 5 3600XT

The devs over at From Software are certainly a busy bunch. Apart from constantly issuing updates for Elden Ring, they are also involved in the creation of its first-ever expansion titled Shadow of the Erdtree. Not much is known about it as of now, however.

The studio is also working on Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon currently. It’s set to be the first entry to the series since 2013. Again, details remain slim but the makers have clarified that the game will stay away from the Soulsborne-like gameplay of their recent offerings.

Coming back to Elden Ring, if you own a copy, make sure to download the 1.09 patch to take advantage of all the new additions.
