After getting infused with the free Resurgence Pack last month, the multiplayer section of Mass Effect 3 will now take delivery of some more gratis content in the form of the Rebellion Pack. Two new maps, a fresh team objective, an extra equipment slot and more such content will be made available with this DLC.
Firebase Jade and Firebase Goddess are the two maps which will be included in the Rebellion Pack. While the former is a Salarian STG base on Sur’Kesh, the latter is set on the Asari homeworld of Thessia. With the DLC, players will even be able to unlock fresh characters for the game’s co-op multiplayer. These include ex-Cerberus (Adept and Vanguard), the Vorcha (Soldier and Sentinel) and the Male Quarian (Engineer and Infiltrator).
A new in-mission objective makes its way into the pack as well. Asking teams to retrieve a high priority package and securely escort it to an extraction zone, this objective will occur randomly during waves 3, 6 and 10. Moreover, a new slot will also be available on the equipment screen, along with weapons like the Cerberus Harrier, the Krysae Sniper Rifle and the Reegar Carbine.
Released for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC in March 2012, this title has been developed by BioWare, and it concludes the much loved trilogy of Mass Effect games. Its co-op based multiplayer acts as a link to the single-player campaign. Owing to fans disapproving of the game’s ending, the developer has announced that a new finish to the story will be doled out soon via the Extended Cut DLC.
The Rebellion Pack for Mass Effect 3 will be available to download at no cost from May 29 onwards through PSN, Xbox Live and Origin.
