PS Plus To Hand Out Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order And Fallout 76 In January

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order

Sony has revealed the three new games that will be doled out for free to PS Plus subscribers this January. 2019’s hit action-adventure Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, Bethesda’s multiplayer action RPG Fallout 76, and Metroid-like side-scroller Axiom Verge 2 are those games.

They will be available to claim and download for free to all three tiers of the PS Plus service. However, as they are not part of the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog, those who don’t claim them in January will not be able to grab them for free.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order comes from Titanfall-maker Respawn Entertainment and puts you in charge of the story of Cal Kestis, a Force-sensitive Jedi Knight during the reign of the Galactic Empire, which is on his hunt.

The game received much praise for its narrative and its combat, which included the use of the lightsaber as well as the Force. Its Metroidvania style of level design was also appreciated as it allowed players to access new areas by unlocking new skills and abilities.

As for Fallout 76, the action RPG was Bethesda’s first multiplayer game and a prequel to previous entries from the series. While it hadn’t received the kind of launch its makers would have hoped for it, the game has indeed picked up ever since with the help of several updates.

The final free PS Plus game for January is Axiom Verge 2, a side-scrolling action-adventure set in the ruins of an ancient, high-tech civilization. While it was released for the PS4 in 2021, its PS5 launch came in 2022.

Apart from all this, it’s worth reminding you that December’s PS Plus games, Divine Knockout: Founder’s Edition, Mass Effect Legendary Edition and Biomutant, will no longer be available to claim beyond January 2.
