Elden Ring Most Played And Most Quit Game Of 2022

Elden Ring

Along with being the best game of 2022, Elden Ring has also grabbed the distinction of being the most played and the most quit game of 2022. To top it all off, it’s also the most backlogged game of the year, with many probably wanting to jump in it but not finding the time or will to.

The Game Awards recently declared Elden Ring Game of the Year and rightfully so. Its top-notch Soulsborne-type gameplay coupled with an open-world setting and a distinct story created partly by George R. R. Martin makes it a breathtaking experience.

And that clearly explains why Elden Ring was the most-played game of 2022. After all, it has managed to sell well over 17.5 million units since its release in February 2022. But what could explain the fact that it was also the most quit game of the year?

The answer is also its Soulsborne-type gameplay, which has punishing difficulty levels and the most unexpected of twists featuring some of the scariest monsters one can imagine. One can very easily imagine players giving up on completing the game.

This data, which tells us about the Elden Ring player stats, comes via a user-powered platform called HowLongToBeat. It gathers data from registered users to estimate the time they would need to beat the game.

February 25 is when Elden Ring hit store shelves and was immediately met with universal acclaim. By the end of March, it had already sold 13.4 million copies worldwide, making it the fastest-selling Bandai Namco game of all time. Multiple big publications have awarded it the title of Game of the Year.

Elden Ring can be purchased now for the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
