Fallout 76’s Update 20 adds long-promised Seasons and much more

Fallout 76

Fallout 76 has been blessed with the Update 20 patch, which finally brings Seasons to the game. Apart from that, the patch also adds a Public Teams system, as well as design and sound improvements and bug fixes. The update is now live on all platforms that the game is available on.

Seasons will add a new progression system to Fallout 76. You’ll be able to earn S.C.O.R.E. to rank up and claim new rewards through daily and weekly challenges. A new reward will be dished out at each rank and may include unique armor, C.A.M.P. items, weapon skins, Power Armour paints, photo frames, consumables, Perk Card Packs, Atoms, and more.

The first such season that’s already live now is called The Legendary Run, and promises over 40 cosmetics items waiting to be unlocked. It will last for 10 weeks and will show progress on a board game-like graphic that takes you across the galaxy. Players wanting to buy their way to upper ranks can, of course, do so with microtransactions.

The new Public Teams system is also something to be excited about. It allows you to use the game’s Social menu to easily find, join, or form a team with those who share common team goals. You can also open the Map to see where current Public Teams are in Appalachia and join them from there.

Fallout 76 was launched in 2018 as a prequel to the previous entries from the series. Unlike those games, this one’s an online multiplayer game that allows you to play alone or in groups of four. Upon its launch, the game was severely criticized for its technical issues, design, and lack of purpose in the gameplay, but over the months, Bethesda has imbibed it with plenty of improvements that have ended up pleasing fans.
