MotionPlus is the technology from Nintendo for its Wii home console, intended on giving the one to one ratio for hand and arm movements. This technology, Nintendo claims, will revolutionize the Wii gaming experience, offering a very realistic feel which reflects motion in 3D space.
Earlier there was speculation as to when the technology was going to be released with rumor about a July MotionPlus and Wii Sports Resort bundle. But now Nintendo crushes this assumption and tells EuroGamer that MotionPlus and Wii Sports Resort coming in July is “purely rumor and speculation”. Leaked retailer information from Amsterdam had suggested that the MotionPlus controller and the Wii Sports game in question would release on July 10, 2009 and that the Wii Fit Plus would be released on November 19, 2009.
The MotionPlus accessory is a tiny device that attaches to the Wii remote to simulate movements in a more realistic way. Many games will utilize the technology including Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 on the Wii.
