600000 DSi Units Sold by Nintendo in America, Europe

The recently launched Nintendo DSi in Europe and North America is doing well apparently, according to Nintendo president Satoru Iwata. The DSi, it seems, has sold about 300,000 units in Europe during the first two days of going on sale on April 3, 2009, and also 300,000 units in North America in the first 48 hours since being available there on April 5, 2009.

Nintendo DSi

The Nintendo DSi had launched in Japan last November and was very well received on the island nation. Being 12 percent thinner than the DS Lite and with two cameras, you would expect the device to be quite popular. During the first month of going on sale in Japan, the DSi sold over 535,000 units. But now, as can be seen from the figures, even during recession only the first two days respectively in Europe and North America has seen about 600,000 units sold.
