Rock Band Music Store to get Chinese Democracy album from Guns N’ Roses

Guns N’ Roses have recently released their sixth album after a gap of about fifteen years. Now, MTV Games and Harmonix have announced that this album, Chinese Democracy, will be making its way to the Rock Band Music Store catalog. The entire album will be made available as downloadable content for the Rock Band games.

After being on a 15 year hiatus, the band released Chinese Democracy in late November of 2008. The band’s 1987 debut album Appetite for Destruction remains the fastest selling debut album in history with over 28 million copies sold and featuring hits such as Sweet Child o’ Mine, Welcome to the Jungle and Paradise City.

The Rock Band Music Store lineup for next week will see 13 songs from the album Chinese Democracy. The song Shackler’s Revenge from the album already made an appearance on the Rock Band 2 soundtrack, and the DLC is to include the tracks:

    Better.
    Catcher in the Rye.
    Chinese Democracy.
    I.R.S.
    If the World.
    Madagascar.
    Prostitute.
    Riad N’ the Bedouins.
    Scraped.
    Sorry.
    Street of Dreams.
    There Was a Time.
    This I Love.

All tracks are original master recordings and will be made available as the entire album or as individual tracks for the PS3 and the Xbox 360. For the Wii, these songs will only be available as individual tracks. The album will release on April 14, 2009 on the Xbox Live Marketplace for the Xbox 360 and on April 16, 2009 on the PlayStation Store for the PS3. Wii owners will be able to download the tracks from the in-game Rock Band 2 music store but no Wii release date has been announced. Also, no prices have been given yet for the DLC for any platform.
