In a major blow to Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive, more than 90 videos and screenshots from the upcoming GTA 6 have leaked online. Since the arrival of these materials, it has been confirmed that they are indeed authentic and have led to an outpouring of support from the industry towards those involved in the development of the game.

Although, the leaked footage and images clearly tell you that GTA 6 is severely unfinished. Assets are missing in most of them while all kinds of visual cues keep appearing on the screen as well. However, they do give us an early look at the game’s open world, combat, physics, and most importantly, the series’ first female protagonist named Lucia.

Another previously leaked piece of information that seems to have come true is that the game will be set in Vice City, Rockstar Games’ fictional version of Miami. There was talk of the game’s two protagonists being a Bonny and Clyde-style duo and that’s also being corroborated by one of the videos in this massive GTA 6 leak.

These screenshots and videos first seemed to have appeared on GTAForums (via PC Gamer). The alleged hacker claims to have acquired them by gaining access to a Rockstar employee’s Slack account. The same hacker also claims to have been behind the big Uber data breach that took place recently.

Following this leak, Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier received confirmation from Rockstar that the footage really is authentic, calling it “one of the biggest leaks in video game history and a nightmare for Rockstar Games.” Other developers, including the Naughty Dog head, Neil Druckmann have come out in support of the developers who undoubtedly will be very affected by this data breach.

Back in July this year, Rockstar Games had confirmed that GTA 6 is indeed in “active development.” Since then, nothing official has been heard from the company.
