Sims 4 Going Free From Next Month

The Sims 4

October 18 will see the base game of EA’s Sims 4 going completely free on all platforms. The popular title was launched way back in 2014 and content packs are still regularly being deployed for it by its makers. It hence makes sense to release the base version for free, given that so many fans are always excited about its new paid content.

It has been made clear that Sims 4 will continue to be blessed with new packs, kits and Sims Delivery Express drops for the foreseeable future. A live stream titled Behind The Sims Summit has also been announced by the company, to share more about what’s in the works. It will be held on October 18.

EA has also announced benefits for those who have already purchased Sims 4 and those who would purchase it before October 18. They will be given the newly launched Desert Luxe Kit DLC completely free of cost. But this will only happen if they log into the game between September 14 and October 17.

Subscribers of EA Play and EA Play Pro have already been getting free copies of Sims 4 but benefits have been announced for them as well. EA Play members will get the Get To Work Expansion Pack with their copies, while EA Play Pro members will receive the Get To Work Expansion Pack as well as the Toddler Stuff Pack.

Sims 4 was originally launched for PC in 2014. The following year saw a Mac version being released, while it made the jump to the PS4 and the Xbox One in 2017. That also means that owners of the PS5 and the Xbox Series X/S can play it right now. Starting October 18, owners of all these platforms will be able to grab the game free of cost.
