Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands Now A Franchise By Itself, More Content Incoming

Tiny Tina's Wonderlands

Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, a game that was launched as a spin-off to the Borderlands series, has been called a new franchise by developer Gearbox Software. The studio, moreover, has also hinted that fresh content under the brand is on the way.

Citing the tremendous success experienced by Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford has called its release a “major victory.” He was speaking during Embracer Group’s annual general meeting, where he also said that the game “shattered all of our target expectations, both critically and commercially.”

He followed that by mentioning that “future experiences” related to the Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands franchise are already under development at Gearbox. Whether these “experiences” refer to a new game, multiple new games, or more DLC packs is still uncertain.

It has already been revealed in the past that Gearbox Software is currently working on as many as nine AAA games across its many brands and studios. It’s easy to believe that a sequel to Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands could be one of them.

The main Borderlands series has seen four big games until now, which have brought huge success for Gearbox. Additionally, the studio has also released and outsourced several spin-offs that have almost always been adored by fans of the series.

Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands came as one such spin-off in March this year. Its origins date back to a DLC for Borderlands 2 titled Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep, which took you inside a fantasy-themed tabletop role-playing game.

This new game gave fans the familiar feeling of playing a Borderlands game but in a completely new setting. Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands can be played now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
