Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands To Have Full Crossplay Support

Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands

Borderlands spin-off Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands will ship with full crossplay support, even on the PlayStation, as confirmed by Gearbox boss Randy Pitchford. The game is scheduled to arrive for the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on March 25.

Confirmation about its crossplay support on PlayStation consoles is of particular importance since Borderlands 3 still doesn’t have it. No reason for the same has been provided yet but Pitchford has raised hopes about the feature getting getting added soon.

“BL3 has supported crossplay for sometime. The future addition of PlayStation to crossplay for BL3 is now what I would consider to be inevitable. More info to come as soon as we have it,” he said while answering a fan’s question on Twitter.

It has come to light that Sony’s policy may require publishers to pay PlayStation a cut of proceeds from all platforms in return for PlayStation crossplay being switched on. This is pretty different from the policies that Nintendo and Xbox have adopted.

While this has never been cited as the official reason behind Borderlands 3 not featuring PlayStation crossplay, it very well could be. Whatever the problems, they have been sorted for now and Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands will get crossplay support across all formats.

Pitchford has said through a Twitter post, “Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands will ship on March 25 with full cross play for all platforms at launch, including PlayStation. Incredible work from the engineers at Gearbox Software with thanks to our partners at 2k Games and 1st parties, including Sony, for working together on this.”

As we said, Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands will be released on March 25 with day-one crossplay support. On PC, both Steam and Epic Games Store users will be able to grab it.
