Forspoken Delayed By Square Enix, Gameplay Trailer Released

Forspoken

Forspoken, the action RPG from Final Fantasy XV maker Luminous Productions, will no longer be coming out in May. Square Enix has announced that the game has been delayed till October 11 to allow the developers more time to polish it. And as if to compensate for this delay, a gameplay trailer has been released, showing the many magical abilities the lead character will have.

Forspoken will be released on the PS5 and PC on the same date. It’s among the first games giving the PS4 a miss. Also, it will be a PlayStation console exclusive for two years. Equipped only with single-player gameplay, it will include procedural generation for the creation of large-scale locations.

“We have made the decision to move the release date of Forspoken to October 11, 2022. Our vision for this exciting new IP is to deliver a game world and hero that gamers across the globe will want to experience for years to come, so getting it right is extremely important to us. To that end, during the next few months we will focus all of our efforts on polishing the game and can’t wait for you to experience Frey’s journey this fall. Thank you for your understanding and continued support. We look forward to sharing more about Forspoken with you soon,” wrote Square Enix in a statement.

The new gameplay trailer of Forspoken shows protagonist Frey face up against a number of beasts, including the huge dragon that was seen in the previous trailer. In fighting them, Frey demonstrates the many magical powers that will be at the players’ disposal when the game is made available.

Forspoken tells the story of New York resident Frey Holland who gets teleported into the world of Athia where she suddenly gains incredible powers. As we said, the game will now arrive for the PS5 and PC on October 11.
