Oxenfree 2 Gets Delayed Once Again

Oxenfree 2: Lost Signals

Oxenfree 2: Lost Signals, the sequel to 2016’s brilliant horror graphic adventure game, has been hit with one more delay. This time, the developers have revealed that they are aiming for a 2023 release window.

Night School Studio, which is now owned by Netflix, made this announcement through a statement on Twitter. They have cited their desire to make Oxenfree 2: Lost Signals “truly special” and adding more localizations as the reasons behind this delay.

This sequel was originally announced in 2021 and was supposed to be released the same year. It was later delayed into “early 2022” because the studio wanted it to be “the experience we believe it should be.”

Part of the blame for this delay could also go towards the fact that Night School Studio was acquired by Netflix last year.

The streaming service is making a big push into gaming and the result of this purchase was an iOS and Android version of the original Oxenfree that arrived in the streaming app a few days ago. It can be downloaded by all Netflix subscribers for free.

All you need to do to grab it on your devices is head into the Netflix app and search for the game. Clicking on it will redirect you to the app store to download it free of cost.

Oxenfree 2: Lost Signals is set five years after the events of the original. It follows a new protagonist named Riley who has returned to her hometown to investigate mysterious radio signals.

Whenever it does come out in 2023, it will be made available on Windows, Mac, PlayStation consoles, and the Nintendo Switch. And although a Netflix version hasn’t been announced yet, you can be sure that it will indeed arrive on the streaming service.
