The Battlefield series has its roots set way back in 2002 when Battlefield 1942 was launched. Since then, the franchise has given birth to several sub-series, with Hardline being the latest one among them. The last game to have been released under the brand was Battlefield 4 which was launched in 2013 for the PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC. Although well received for its offerings, this title received a lot of flak due to its buggy nature and its frequent multiplayer issues.
