Battlefield Hardline announced to be coming this fall, 7-minute video leaks

Battlefield Hardline is the name of a new first-person shooter entry to the famed series. This does not fall under the main series as well as the Bad Company sub-series, as it’s a completely new extension in itself. Following leaks about its existence, the game was unveiled by EA yesterday, and soon after that a 7-minute video of it hit the Internet giving us a fully detailed look at the upcoming game. Battlefield Hardline is slated for release during this fall, but the platforms it will be launched on haven’t been disclosed as yet.

We can expect to find more about it at this year’s E3. Unlike recent titles from the series, this one is being developed by Visceral Games of Dead Space fame. Abandoning the all-out war-based nature of the previous games, this on focuses on crime and the battle between cops and criminals. More on that can be seen in the video we’ve posted in the space below. It was released through EA’s YouTube account accidentally, following which it has been mirrored by many other users on the video-sharing service.

It’s a clip meant for internal purposes and hence references to the game by the codename ‘Omaha.’ A number of unique multiplayer modes are shown to form part of Battlefield Hardline, aside from an interesting single-player campaign which tells the story of a young Miami detective named Nick Mendoza who’s stuck between his own personal struggle between right and wrong. A number of fresh weapons, gadgets and the series’ trademark destruction mechanics have also been showcased in the video.

We’ll be learning more about Battlefield Hardline next month at E3. Stay tuned till June 9 for added details on it.
