Battlefield 4 is now availalbe for free, but only for 168 hours

As EA continues its quest to gain back its fans, it has gone ahead and made the generous gesture of dishing out Battlefield 4 for free on PC. There’s a catch to that however, as free access will only be limited for 168 hours after you start playing it for the first time. Those wishing to jump in on the offer have until August 14 to add the game to their Origin libraries. Once that’s done, you can download and begin your 168 hours of gameplay whenever you want.

So that’s an entire week of free access to both single-player as well as multiplayer components from the acclaimed first-person shooter. But once the time is over, access to the game will be taken away and you’ll need to buy it if you want to continue playing further. This is part of Origin’s Game Time program which had given similar limited access to Titanfall back in June.

Battlefield 4 was first released in October last year and it’s available now for a variety of platforms that include the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC. Developed using the Frostbite 3 engine, it received immense acclaim for its offerings upon its release, but several long-running glitches, bugs and other issues have stemmed ever since, some of which have still not been addressed by DICE.

Despite this, it has been receiving its planned expansions from time to time, with the latest one among them being Dragon’s Teeth. Like we said, those wishing to cash in on their free Battlefield 4 time will need to add the game to their Origin libraries prior to August 14.
