Gamers enjoy playing fighting games but if you ask them if they enjoyed watching movies based on franchises such as Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat, the gamers would probably say that they didn’t enjoy it. Well, one more franchise belonging to the fighting genre is King of Fighters, which has spawned many video games.
Naturally one would expect a King of Fighters movie, right? Well, now Movieset blog is reporting that the filming of the King of Fighters movie has already begun last month. It stars Maggie Q (NFS Undercover anyone), Sean Faris and Ray Park amongst others. The interesting thing about the story is that there is a sci-fi twist to it as the fighters apparently will be fighting in other dimensions.
The King of Fighters film is being helmed by Gordon Chan, who has earlier worked on movies such as The Medallion and Beast Cop. Rita Augustine will be writing the screenplay. The King of Fighters movie is expected to be out in 2010.
