Resident Evil 4 Remake Sells 3 Million Copies In Two Days

Resident Evil 4 Remake

Given the critical reception that the Resident Evil 4 Remake received upon launch, it isn’t shocking to know that it sold 3 million copies in two days. The game is “off to a solid start,” announced Capcom, adding that cumulative shipments of games from the series have breached 135 million.

The sales of this game are an improvement over those of Resident Evil Village as well as the Resident Evil 2 Remake, which took four days to breach the 3 million mark. The Resident Evil 4 Remake is available now for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

“Along with securing high scores on online review sites, the title garnered praise and attention following the release of the Chainsaw Demo, in which players could enjoy the opening of the game,” said Capcom in a press release.

A funny anime series with visuals resembling Studio Ghibli films was also released by Capcom, ahead of the game’s launch. Plus, the game’s sales were most definitely helped by the fandom that the game’s original version enjoys.

Resident Evil 4 was first released way back in 2005. The survival horror game garnered huge praise for its intriguing story and its stunning action-based gameplay. Originally developed for GameCube, it received several ports and HD versions over the years.

The Resident Evil 4 Remake, however, is a complete rebuild of the original. The gameplay has been modernized and the visuals improved. It features overhauled character designs and enhanced backgrounds as well.

If you’re thinking of getting into the action, Resident Evil 4 Remake is available across a range of platforms. The fact that it has reached 3 million in sales in just two days tells you that there are plenty of records that are about to be broken.
