Resident Evil 4 Remake Demo Now Live With Secret Ultra Hard Mode

Resident Evil 4 Remake

Those who’d like to get a taste of what’s to come in the Resident Evil 4 Remake are being offered just that through a new demo that’s live now for the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. What’s more, it comes with an ultra hard difficulty mode as well.

This demo version is called Resident Evil 4 Chainsaw Demo and can easily be downloaded from the respective stores of all platforms it’s available on. It aims to give you a glimpse at everything new in this remake that’s supposed to arrive on March 24.

According to Eurogamer, a number of gamers who have played the demo have reported the presence of an extreme difficulty mode in it. It’s called the Mad Chainsaw Mode and it seemingly gets unlocked after beating the demo at least once.

But there’s also a bit of randomness to the whole affair. When it does appear, you are told that the Mad Chainsaw Mode will only apply to a single playthrough. You will hence have to indulge in more playthroughs if you wish to experience it again.

It’s being reported that the mode really lives up to its expectations. The enemies are apparently a lot stronger, while their placements are also much more difficult to handle.

This mode features no checkpoints, which means on dying, you’ll be taken straight to the main menu. It’s also being said that the Chainsaw man in the game is on fire once you get to the village.

What’s strange is that the Mad Chainsaw Mode is meant only for this demo version and won’t form part of the full release of the Resident Evil 4 Remake.
