Assassin’s Creed Chronicles is a trilogy with games set in China, India and Russia

AC fans in India can rejoice, even as the first ever game from the series to be set in the country has been announced in the form of Assassin’s Creed Chronicles. However, it’s not a full-fledged AAA game, if you’re wondering about that. It is part of a trilogy that will be set in China, India and Russia, and contain 2.5D side-scrolling gameplay. These titles will be given away for free to those who own the Season Pass for AC: Unity, and will be available in the form of standalone purchases for others.

Assassin's Creed Chronicles

First among the three games will be Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: China which is set to be released on April 21 for the PS4, Xbox One and PC. This game will have its story set during the Ming Dynasty-era, and will star female assassin Shao Jun, whom we have last seen in AC: Embers. The next game will be Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: India, and although a definite release date for it hasn’t been provided, it has indeed been mentioned that it will take place in 1841 during the start of the war between the Sikh Empire and the East India Company. It will feature Arbaaz Mir, an assassin whom we’ve previously seen in a graphic novel named AC: Brahman.

The last game from the trilogy will of course be Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: Russia. It will have its story set in post-revolution Russia during the period around 1918. Nikolai Orelov, the assassin who had featured in the Assassin’s Creed: The Fall and The Chain graphic novels will be seen starring in this game.

For now, Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: India has been slated for an autumn 2015 release, but we’ll bring you all the details regarding its exact release date as soon as they’re out.
