The price for the Dead Space 3 Dev Team Edition has been disclosed by EA along with its contents. This exclusive set of collector’s items contains an 8-inch statue and a number of other such goodies that are aimed towards hardcore fans of the series. If they wish to purchase it with a copy of the game, it will sell at 160 USD (approx. Rs. 8,770), while otherwise, it will set them back by 100 USD (approx. Rs. 5,480). Only a total of 5,000 units of it will be dished out.
The 8 inched statue that forms the highlight of the Dev Team Edition is that of the Black Marker alien artifact found on the Earth portrayed in the game’s universe. This custom-molded statue has been painted with polyresin. And then there’s the Aluminum Data Pad item which is essentially a 10″ x 7″ hinged aluminum flip book filled with nine sets of pages made up of framed PET sheets and printed cardstock backing pages.
A Med Pack Water Bottle also makes its way into the package contents of this set. It is a custom molded 14-oz water bottle which features a flip spout lid. The Bound SCAF Jotter that has made its way into the bundle contains Dr. Serrano’s notes on the game’s lore. Other additions to it include three 12″ x 5″ vintage posters printed on 80-pound paper, 6 vintage post cards and a 96-page mini art book.
This game is ready to ship next month for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC, and the goodie-filled set will be made available for all of these platforms. Developed by Visceral Games, it is a survival horror third-person shooter which kicks in traditional campaign offerings with a twist of co-op. It follows Isaac Clarke and the new protagonist, Sergeant John Carver as they land on a frozen planet called Tau Volantis so as to put an end to the Necromorph plague. Later this month, on January 22, a demo of the title will be seen hitting PSN and Xbox Live.
The Dead Space 3 Dev Team Edition can be pre-ordered now through EA at the costs we’ve mentioned above. Its launch will coincide with the game’s release date of course.
