The release date information of the upcoming Dead Space 3 demo has been revealed by EA and Visceral Games. All those who receive early access codes to it will be able to download it exclusively on their Xbox 360 consoles come January 15. A week later, on January 22, it will be launched via Xbox Live and PSN for everyone to download. The trailer we’ve embedded in the space below is meant to give players an idea of how the narrative has shaped up through the first two iterations in this series of horror-themed third-person shooter games.
Early access to the Dead Space 3 demo is valid only for Xbox 360 owners. All they need to do is sign up on the website, http://demo.deadspace.com so as to receive a redemption code which will entitle them to a download of the trail version. The portion that will be featured in the demo has the series’ unwilling hero Isaac Clarke team up with this new partner Sergeant John Carver, as they fight for their lives after landing on the ice planet of Tau Volantis which is brimming with Necromorphs.
Revealed for the first time earlier this year, the game has been built in such a way that it capitalizes on the franchise’s core elements such as suspense, horror, action and sound, and couples them with fresh co-op mechanics. It is slated to come out for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC on February 5, as far as North America is concerned. Its European launch is planned for February on the other hand.
This game has adopted a fully integrated drop-in/drop-out co-op model that grants players the option to team up with one of their friends for added pleasures. Moreover, playing cooperatively even has its own perks, say its makers. Additional story details, side missions and gameplay mechanics can only be found when as the second character, John Carver. This is the third main game from the series, which also kicks in a few spin-off titles.
Once again, the Dead Space 3 demo will be up for download on Xbox Live and PSN on January 22. The game can also be pre-ordered now for all three platforms through various retailers.
