At the CES 2013 event which is underway in Las Vegas, US, a new Tomb Raider Limited Edition Xbox 360 Wireless Controller was unveiled by Microsoft, Crystal Dynamics and Square Enix. This specially designed gamepad will be made available nearer to the release date of the title, and will have its price set at 59.99 USD (approx. Rs. 3,280). A transforming D-pad is of course part of the deal, while another incentive comes in the form of a download code for a bonus multiplayer character.
The design of the Tomb Raider Limited Edition Xbox 360 Wireless Controller has been developed in conjunction with Crystal Dynamics, and features a two-layer color finish that has been etched with laser so as to give it a realistic and tactile worn appearance. The exterior of this gamepad has been inspired from Lara’s climbing axe. Its customizable D-pad is able to switch from a ‘plus’ design to a ‘disc,’ allowing gamers to use it as they prefer. The wireless range of the controller has been set at 30-feet.
Those who buy it will be proffered with a download code for a playable character in the game’s recently revealed multiplayer component. This character is an Xbox 360-exclusive, and won’t be made available in any way for the PS3 and PC versions of the title. The game in question is all set to be launched for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC on March 5 this year.
