Tomb Raider multiplayer details disclosed officially

The Tomb Raider multiplayer component was spilled out through a leak late last month, and official details of it are now out for us to gaze at. Crystal Dynamics’ reboot to its own popular series will include the basic Team Deathmatch mode, as well as a few other additions that we’ve mentioned below. The release date for this game is fast approaching, as the title has been planned to come out for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC with its much awaited single-player attributes on March 5, 2013.

Tomb Raider Multiplayer

Official details about Tomb Raider multiplayer have come out by means of the latest issue of the US-based Official Xbox Magazine. As spotted by IGN, a forum user named ‘miss.haggard’ from the game’s community has summarized the entire details into one post. According to it, Team Deathmatch will indeed form part of the whole affair, but with a few twists of its own. This mode will be staged in a best-of-three format, and will have a team consisting of Lara’s fellow ”˜survivors’ fighting against the hostile natives of the island, dubbed ”˜scavengers.’

Apparently, the maps of the game aren’t ”˜too wide open,’ but they have been riddled with traps and unpredictable elements. The next game type described in the article is called Rescue. It asks the survivors to gather a said amount of med-packs so as to deliver them at rotating destinations; all this while scavengers try to increase their kill count which needs to reach a certain amount. There is also talk about a mode called Cry for Help that will purportedly be based upon discovery and collection.

It is uncertain as to whether or not the game will contain any other modes. And although a large roster of characters has been reported to be present in the multiplayer component, there is still no news about Lara Croft being playable in it. The XP earned by players during their online encounters will be usable for changing their stats and purchasing advanced characters.
