LEGO: Legends of Chima is not one of those video games based on some already-popular IP. It is in fact a completely fresh property which has a set of three games ready to release under it for several platforms in 2013. The universe around which the video games will be built will also manifest itself in the form of construction sets, vehicles, TV content and more, revealed Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and the LEGO Group through a press release which came out yesterday.

Hailing the company’s plans with LEGO Legends of Chima as ”˜something innovative,’ Samantha Ryan, who is the senior vice president in the production and development department at Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, asserted that creating multiple LEGO video games for one brand will help the company target today’s diverse gaming community. Moreover, she also mentioned it will help establish a unique rewards system that will be common across all three titles.
First among the three is dubbed LEGO Legends of Chima: Speedorz (both screenshots posted below are of this title), and is a racing minigame produced jointly by TT Games and 4T2. It is all set to be made available from today onwards through the App Store, while it is already playable through LEGO.com since yesterday. It will have gamers race in their Speedorz vehicles against famous Chima characters on courses showcasing the new locations. The ultimate goal for players in this game is to the achieve the Golden CHI, which will transform the world map and open a new race level.

The next title which will be released is called LEGO Legends of Chima: Laval’s Journey. It will be developed by TT Games, and is slated to arrive for the 3DS and the PS Vita during the summer of 2013, while its launch for the DS will take place in the autumn of this year. And the last one will be LEGO Legends of Chima Online which is being described as a free-to-play online world developed by WB Games Montreal. Set to arrive during the autumn of 2013, it will let players build and customize their kingdom, while exploring huge environments, taking on missions, uncovering hidden secrets and treasures and more.

All these LEGO Legends of Chima games will be tied into a system called the Chima Vault which will let gamers earn rewards points that will be usable in the online game.
