One more Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 release date has been shot at us by City Interactive, and we hope this is the final one. That’s because the game has already been delayed, not once, but twice in the past, and this announcement takes the tally to three, as it was supposed to come out this month the last time we checked. The title is now being planned to be launched by its maker on March 12, 2013 for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. This sequel to the 2010 shooter has been built using Crytek’s CryEngine 3 technology, and features single-player as well as multiplayer attributes.

Developer City Interactive has announced the new launch information of Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 in the form of a statement which was interpreted by Eurogamer Poland, and then reported about by the main Eurogamer website. Initially, it was supposed to come out in August 2012, but was pushed into October of the same year for some reason. Then in July, it was announced that the game will be hitting markets in January 2013. And now, news is that it will finally be launched in March this year.

This game is a first-person shooter at its core, and kicks in stealth elements, hand-to-hand assassinations as well as sniping techniques of course. Apart from its single-player campaign, multiplayer gameplay will also be infused into it by City Interactive. The latter will apparently have players assuming the roles of snipers and engaging with each other in duels. Although it was reported that there were plans for a co-op mode to be pushed into the title, they were later abandoned it seems.
Pre-orders can now be placed for this game through a number of retailers. Apart from standard copies, its limited and collector’s editions can also be booked by gamers. The title acts as a sequel to its 2010 predecessor which featured similar gameplay. Although it received mixed reviews from critics, it was able to garner sales of over 2 million units. The game can be purchased now for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.

The new Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 release date has been pinned down to fall on March 12, and as mentioned above, it can be pre-ordered for all three platforms currently.
