The release date for GTA V has at last been revealed by Rockstar Games, resulting in a big disappointment for fans who were hoping to get the title fired up on their systems during spring. September 17 will be actual date on which the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game will be launched, with no word out yet about a PC edition of the same. About the delay, Rockstar has issued a statement saying that the additional time will be used by it to ensure that the title ships with more polish.
Gamers have been waiting with bated breath for an announcement regarding firm GTA V launch information since quite a long time now. In October last year, leaks of promotional materials of the game had gone on to indicate that it will be coming out during the spring of this year. And this piece of information was confirmed by Rockstar later that month, when it announced that the game is only headed to consoles, and not PC, leaving fans of the platform disappointed. However, there has been a recent rumor which has pointed out the possibility of the title coming to the said platform after all.
Regarding the delay, the developer has said that the extra time will indeed be worth it, as an ‘ambitious and complex game’ requires a little more polish in order to meet the standards Rockstar and its fans are expecting off it. The company has apologized for this holdup, and revealed that the entire team is working ‘very hard’ to ensure that the title ‘will meet if not exceed’ the expectations of fans. The studio has even advised folks to not believe in ‘conspiracy theories’ that tend to float around after delays, as the reason given by them for the holdup is the only true one.
This game is all set to be the first in the massive franchise to feature three protagonists. Players will be allowed to switch between them during gameplay. Its story revolves around Michael, Trevor and Franklin, and their lives as criminals in the fictional city of Los Santos.
As mentioned above, GTA V will be launched for the PS3 and Xbox 360 on September 17, 2013. No word is out yet about a PC version.
